Cagliari bunker prices

$527–$571/MT

Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Cagliari, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.

Why there is no assessment here yet

Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.

No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.

Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Cagliari

Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-08-31.

The Capitaneria di porto's Ordinanza 50/2024 allows four routes at Cagliari: quayside dispensers, pipeline, licensed barge and road tanker (Art. 49.2). Barge and road tanker are both restricted to closed-cup flash point not below 60 C (Arts. 58.2, 68.1). Work may run round the clock with the area and the water alongside lit, and stops for thunderstorms (Art. 50.1-2).

Barge stems go through PMIS 72 hours ahead with checklist, MSDS and fire-watch arrangements (Art. 67). Nothing may be worked on the barge's side (Art. 65.7); elsewhere the master judges whether to suspend cargo (Art. 65.2), and suspension is compulsory only for bulk flammables or packaged dangerous goods of classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 (Art. 65.20).

Road tanker is tighter: 24 hours' notice (Art. 70.2), none on Sundays or public holidays save special cases and 48 hours for those (Art. 71.1), and only along the seven berths in Art. 69.1 - four in the old port (Ichnusa, Molo Capitaneria, Molo Sabaudo, Molo Rinascita), two in the industrial port (Nord/Est and the bulk quay) and one at Teulada - with the terminalist's nulla osta in concession areas. One tanker alongside at a time, 30 tonnes maximum each (Arts. 72.2-3).

Not published anywhere we could find
  • The regulation caps only the road tanker, at 30 tonnes per vehicle; it publishes no maximum stem for barge or pipeline deliveries and no pumping rates, so ask the supplier.
  • It does not name the concession-holding barge operators or give their capacities, so barge availability has to be confirmed with the supplier rather than read off the rules.
  • Barge bunkering at anchorage is permitted only in the anchorage zones set by the Maritime Authority (Art. 66.1.a), but the regulation does not publish where those zones lie or their depth limits.
  • Nothing in the regulation says which grades are actually available at Cagliari, or what any of it costs.

Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.

VLSFO observed at the 6 nearest priced ports

The working behind the estimate above.

Those are prices at those ports, not at Cagliari, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.

Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 8 hours alongside.

Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.

A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.

Cagliari bunkering FAQ

What is the bunker price at Cagliari today?
No price is published at Cagliari. The closest port where one is, is Livorno, about 266 nautical miles away — VLSFO at $549 a tonne.
Is Cagliari a cheap bunkering port?
Whether a port is cheap for your vessel depends on the deviation cost, not just the headline price — reaching a cheaper port costs charter hire and fuel.
Does EU ETS apply at Cagliari?
Cagliari is in the EU/EEA, so voyages to, from and within it fall under the EU Emissions Trading System, and FuelEU Maritime applies to ships of 5,000 GT and above. That adds a real per-tonne cost that a headline bunker price does not show.
