Bunkers at Mahón (Maó) are delivered by road tanker (truck), not by barge or pipeline. Moeve (formerly Cepsa) supplies marine fuels (MGO, gas oils, fuel oils, VLSFO) by truck at the Port of Mahón. Nieves Energía / AXOIL also provides bunkering services to vessels in Mahón, drawing product from the local EXOLUM terminal, with 24/7 service including transport from terminal and metered pump delivery. Truck-to-ship supply of liquid fuels requires prior authorisation from the Port Authority of Baleares (APB): operators must hold a valid APB authorisation (renewable annually up to 5 years), submit a request for each supply, and comply with the APB's particular conditions, including civil liability insurance, a guarantee, and a spill contingency plan. Mahón lies within a Sulphur ECA, so low-sulphur fuel (max 0.10% sulphur) applies, and EU ETS rules apply to voyages calling here.
