Naples bunker prices
ITNAP · IT · Major bunkering hub · Emission Control Area · EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime apply
Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Naples, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.
Why there is no assessment here yet
Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.
No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.
Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Naples
Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-09-02.
Bunkers in Naples are delivered by barge and, where ports allow, by tanker truck or pipeline. Q8 Quaser supplies via barge at Gaeta, Naples, Salerno, Bari and Palermo, plus truck deliveries from its Naples hub; Sarda Bunkers (licensed in Naples, Salerno and smaller Campania ports for over 60 years) operates its own tankers/barges and also handles slop/sludge removal. Delivery may occur at berth or in the roadstead (anchorage); roadstead supply is subject to confirmation by the harbour authorities and the vessel's Commander that weather permits it. Suppliers' terms require the agent to coordinate place, date and time (vessel agency function), with ETA/ETD given via written bunker confirmation; deliveries are weather-permitting, follow port working hours (typically 08:00–17:00 per Q8 Quaser terms absent port regulations), and extra costs outside these fall to the buyer. Products meeting ISO 8217 (HSFO 3.5%, VLSFO, MGO, biofuels) are offered; Naples is a sulphur ECA so 0.50% VLSFO applies, and EU ETS/FuelEU obligations are relevant. Bunker operations require authorisation from the Naples Port Captaincy (Guardia Costiera), which grants fuel-supply concessions.
- formal nomination/notice period required by port authority
- night bunkering permitted?
- designated anchorage positions for bunkering
- typical stem time
- specific ETS berthing mooring rules from Naples port authority
Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.
The working behind the estimate above.
Those are prices at those ports, not at Naples, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.
Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 5 hours alongside.

Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.
A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.
Naples bunkering FAQ
- What is the bunker price at Naples today?
- No price is published at Naples. The closest port where one is, is Augusta, about 222 nautical miles away — VLSFO at $779 a tonne.
- Is Naples a cheap bunkering port?
- Whether a port is cheap for your vessel depends on the deviation cost, not just the headline price — reaching a cheaper port costs charter hire and fuel.
- Does EU ETS apply at Naples?
- Naples is in the EU/EEA, so voyages to, from and within it fall under the EU Emissions Trading System, and FuelEU Maritime applies to ships of 5,000 GT and above. That adds a real per-tonne cost that a headline bunker price does not show.
