Nice bunker prices
FRNCE · FR · Emission Control Area · EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime apply
Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Nice, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.
Why there is no assessment here yet
Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.
No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.
Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Nice
Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-08-31.
Nice is a compact municipal harbour administered by the Métropole / CCI Nice Côte d'Azur, working Corsica ferries and ropax, cruise and coastal passenger ships and freight alongside a large yacht basin; the same authority also runs the buoy moorings in the Villefranche roadstead just to the east. There is no barge bunker trade here, and the point that matters on the phone is procedural. Under the port's Règlement particulier de police, every delivery, loading, unloading or transfer of fuel or dangerous goods requires the prior authorisation of the Capitainerie, and any bunkering must additionally be notified in advance to the port office (the concessionnaire) as well as to the port authority; these rules apply across the entire port perimeter. So expect to line up a road-tanker supplier and clear the timing and paperwork with the Capitainerie rather than order a barge. Nice lies within the Mediterranean ECA, and as an EU port the FuelEU Maritime and EU ETS obligations apply.
- The port regulation does not publish a maximum stem size or per-delivery quantity limit for bunkers.
- It does not specify the delivery method (road tanker versus any afloat supply) for fuel.
- No dedicated commercial fuel-oil bunker berth is named; the fuel clauses I read do not address bunkering large yachts lying on the Villefranche roadstead buoys.
- The regulation sets no published lead time for a bunkering request beyond 'prior' notice to the Capitainerie and concessionnaire.
Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.
The working behind the estimate above.
Those are prices at those ports, not at Nice, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.
Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 8 hours alongside.

Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.
A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.
Nice bunkering FAQ
- What is the bunker price at Nice today?
- No price is published at Nice. The closest port where one is, is Livorno, about 133 nautical miles away — VLSFO at $549 a tonne.
- Is Nice a cheap bunkering port?
- Whether a port is cheap for your vessel depends on the deviation cost, not just the headline price — reaching a cheaper port costs charter hire and fuel.
- Does EU ETS apply at Nice?
- Nice is in the EU/EEA, so voyages to, from and within it fall under the EU Emissions Trading System, and FuelEU Maritime applies to ships of 5,000 GT and above. That adds a real per-tonne cost that a headline bunker price does not show.
