Ceuta bunker prices
ESCEU · ES · Major bunkering hub · Emission Control Area · EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime apply
Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Ceuta, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.
Why there is no assessment here yet
Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.
No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.
Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Ceuta
Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-08-31.
Ceuta is one of the Strait of Gibraltar's main bunkering calls, and it takes fuel two ways. A ship can lie alongside and take product ex-pipe at the Poniente quay, or it can bunker by barge while at anchor in the bay, which lets the port serve vessels too large or too busy to berth. Vilma Oil is one of the physical suppliers here, and recent berthing works were promoted as letting bigger ships bunker at Ceuta than before. One recent change matters for quantity: mass flow meters are now mandatory for bunker deliveries at Ceuta, so the delivered figure is metered rather than taken from tank soundings — expect the barge's MFM totaliser to be the reference number in any dispute. Ceuta lies inside the Mediterranean SOx Emission Control Area, so since 1 May 2025 fuel must be at or below 0.10% sulphur unless the ship runs an approved scrubber.
- The pages read confirm MFMs are mandatory at Ceuta but do not give the effective date or the certifying/calibration standard for them.
- No maximum stem size, and no limit on how many vessels can be supplied simultaneously, is stated on the pages read.
- The pages read confirm Vilma Oil as a supplier but do not confirm the other suppliers or which storage facilities feed the Poniente pipeline.
- Whether HSFO is available for scrubber-fitted ships at Ceuta is not stated on the pages read.
Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.
The working behind the estimate above.
Those are prices at those ports, not at Ceuta, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.
Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 8 hours alongside.

Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.
A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.
Ceuta bunkering FAQ
- What is the bunker price at Ceuta today?
- No price is published at Ceuta. The closest port where one is, is Gibraltar, about 15 nautical miles away — VLSFO at $695 a tonne.
- Is Ceuta a cheap bunkering port?
- Whether a port is cheap for your vessel depends on the deviation cost, not just the headline price — reaching a cheaper port costs charter hire and fuel.
- Does EU ETS apply at Ceuta?
- Ceuta is in the EU/EEA, so voyages to, from and within it fall under the EU Emissions Trading System, and FuelEU Maritime applies to ships of 5,000 GT and above. That adds a real per-tonne cost that a headline bunker price does not show.
