Oslo bunker prices
NOOSL · NO · Major bunkering hub · Emission Control Area · EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime apply
Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Oslo, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.
Why there is no assessment here yet
Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.
No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.
Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Oslo
Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-08-31.
Oslo is a busy liner port rather than a dedicated bunker hub. The Port of Oslo describes itself as Norway's largest public cargo port, working around fifty cargo calls a week alongside daily ferries to Denmark and Germany and a cruise and yacht season, so a stem here usually has to be fitted inside a tight cargo or turnaround window rather than taken as a separate bunker call. Plan the delivery around your berth time, not the other way round.
The port authority itself publishes prices and business terms but no bunkering regulation, no bunkering permit form and no supplier list, so the commercial and operational terms - grade, delivery method and quantity - are set by the supplier you contract, not by the port. What the port does run is a round-the-clock harbour watch (Havnevakt) that monitors all movements on the fjord; reach it on VHF 15 or +47 91 79 99 00 and clear any barge or road-tanker movement and berth timing through them.
Oslo lies inside the North Sea SOx Emission Control Area, where the sulphur cap is 0.10%, so anything bunkered or burned alongside has to meet that limit.
- The Port of Oslo does not publish a maximum stem size or any quantity limit for bunkering - ask the supplier.
- The port site does not state whether bunkers are delivered by road tanker or by barge/bunker boat, nor does it name designated bunkering berths or anchorages.
- There is no public list of licensed bunker suppliers for Oslo on the port authority's own pages.
- Among the port's published forms there is no bunkering or hot-work notification/permit, so whether one is required could not be confirmed.
- Could not source how EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime specifically apply to bunker calls at Oslo.
Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.
The working behind the estimate above.
Those are prices at those ports, not at Oslo, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.
Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 8 hours alongside.

Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.
A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.
Oslo bunkering FAQ
- What is the bunker price at Oslo today?
- No price is published at Oslo. The closest port where one is, is Skagen, about 131 nautical miles away — VLSFO at $708 a tonne.
- Is Oslo a cheap bunkering port?
- Whether a port is cheap for your vessel depends on the deviation cost, not just the headline price — reaching a cheaper port costs charter hire and fuel.
- Does EU ETS apply at Oslo?
- Oslo is in the EU/EEA, so voyages to, from and within it fall under the EU Emissions Trading System, and FuelEU Maritime applies to ships of 5,000 GT and above. That adds a real per-tonne cost that a headline bunker price does not show.
