BUNKERFUELPRICES

Stockholm bunker prices

SESTO · SE · Major bunkering hub · Emission Control Area · EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime apply

Estimated · VLSFO · not observed at Stockholm
$565–$695/MT

Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Stockholm, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.

Why there is no assessment here yet

Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.

No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.

Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Stockholm

Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-09-02.

Bunkers in Stockholm are supplied by ScanOcean AB as both trader and physical supplier, delivering by truck nationwide, barge in Gothenburg and Stockholm, and ex-pipe in Södertälje (serving vessels entering Lake Mälaren), with fuels sourced from Nordic refiners including Neste low-sulphur MGO DMA / MDO DMB grades. Bunkering requires pre-arrival notification to Port Control (BTC) at least 24 hours in advance, VHF channel 12 contact before and after operations, an OCIMF (or LNG equivalent) bunker checklist, designated safety watchmen on both vessels, pressure-tested hoses with certification no older than 12 months, and immediate stop/close-valve/alert-BTC procedures on any spill. Bunkering of tanker vessels is not permitted; bunkering is prohibited while loading/unloading dangerous goods, and within the lock area. Bunkering with products of flashpoint below 55°C from non-permanent facilities must be declared to BTC in advance. The port lies in a SECA/ECA: low-sulphur (<0.1% S) fuels apply, and EU ETS applies. Wind limits apply to buoy mooring (e.g. 14 m/s Stockholm Strömmen).

Not published anywhere we could find
  • barge delivery at anchorage (Fjäderholmarna) availability
  • typical stem time
  • night delivery allowed?
  • EU ETS fuel supplier reporting responsibilities

Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.

VLSFO observed at the 6 nearest priced ports

The working behind the estimate above.

Those are prices at those ports, not at Stockholm, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.

Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 8 hours alongside.

Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.

A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.

Stockholm bunkering FAQ

What is the bunker price at Stockholm today?
No price is published at Stockholm. The closest port where one is, is Ventspils, about 159 nautical miles away — VLSFO at $623 a tonne.
Is Stockholm a cheap bunkering port?
Whether a port is cheap for your vessel depends on the deviation cost, not just the headline price — reaching a cheaper port costs charter hire and fuel.
Does EU ETS apply at Stockholm?
Stockholm is in the EU/EEA, so voyages to, from and within it fall under the EU Emissions Trading System, and FuelEU Maritime applies to ships of 5,000 GT and above. That adds a real per-tonne cost that a headline bunker price does not show.
