Limassol bunker prices

Estimated · VLSFO · not observed at Limassol
$736–$839/MT

Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Limassol, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.

Why there is no assessment here yet

Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.

No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.

Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Limassol

Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-08-31.

Island Petroleum, part of Island Oil Holdings, supplies bunkers in the ports and anchorages of Limassol, Larnaca, Vassiliko, Moni and Dhekelia, and describes Limassol as attractive for bunkers-only calls. Two grades: VLSFO cst-380 (RMG 380) at max 0.5% sulphur to ISO 8217:2017, and gasoil (DMA) at max 0.1% to ISO 8217:2010. Its two supply tankers, Island Trader and Island Challenger, each carry 1,750 mt of VLSFO and 750 mt of MGO and pump at 300 and 150 cbm an hour - that is the ceiling on a single barge trip.

The Cyprus Ports Authority tariff for Limassol, current from 20 October 2025, prices almost nothing about fuel: both items under 3.5(a), annual licensing of bunker companies and provision of fuel from a tanker vehicle on the quay direct to a visiting vessel (marked non-bunker), read "Pending to be licensed". What it does price is waiting. The table headed "Anchorage (Moni)" is free for the first seven calendar days, then EUR 1.26 per metre of LOA per day for days 8-15, 1.58 to 2.51 for days 16-30, and 2.09 to 5.03 beyond thirty, by length band.

Not published anywhere we could find
  • The CPA publishes no price for bunkering itself - both fuel bunkering items read "Pending to be licensed" - so what the authority will charge a bunker company, or for a tanker-vehicle delivery on the quay, is unknown.
  • The tariff's anchorage fee table is headed "Anchorage (Moni)"; the same document names a separate "Lemesos Anchorage" in its sludge section, but no fee table for Limassol's own anchorage was found, so anchorage cost for a bunkers-only wait off Limassol itself could not be established.
  • No maximum stem, minimum quantity, notice period or barge availability is published by Island Petroleum or by the CPA.
  • No published list of physical suppliers at Limassol was found, so whether Island Petroleum is the only one could not be established.
  • HSFO does not appear on Island Petroleum's Cyprus grades list and no source was found confirming whether high-sulphur fuel can be had at Limassol at all.

Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.

VLSFO observed at the 6 nearest priced ports

The working behind the estimate above.

Those are prices at those ports, not at Limassol, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.

Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 8 hours alongside.

Indicative, delivered basis. Source: a licensed feed. Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.

A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.

Limassol bunkering FAQ

What is the bunker price at Limassol today?
No price is published at Limassol. The closest port where one is, is Istanbul, about 426 nautical miles away — VLSFO at $811 a tonne.
Is Limassol a cheap bunkering port?
Whether a port is cheap for your vessel depends on the deviation cost, not just the headline price — reaching a cheaper port costs charter hire and fuel.
Does EU ETS apply at Limassol?
Limassol is in the EU/EEA, so voyages to, from and within it fall under the EU Emissions Trading System, and FuelEU Maritime applies to ships of 5,000 GT and above. That adds a real per-tonne cost that a headline bunker price does not show.
