Mersin bunker prices

Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Mersin, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.

Why there is no assessment here yet

Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.

No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.

Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Mersin

Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-08-31.

Mersin International Port is run by MIP, whose marine arm MarineCo provides the pilotage and towage: four tugs of 30 to 60 tonnes bollard pull and thirteen harbour pilots. The quay is large, more than twenty berths, with the container berths running to 1,395 m at up to 15.8 m draught and the conventional berths to 2,215 m at up to 16.3 m, though individual container berths are draught-restricted as shallow as 9.5 m. The operator's own service list covers fresh water, sludge and garbage disposal but not fuel, so bunkers are arranged through independent suppliers rather than the terminal, and the delivery mode is theirs to confirm.

Since 1 May 2025 the whole Mediterranean has been a sulphur emission control area, so a ship moored or at anchor at Mersin must burn fuel at or below 0.10% sulphur. Confirm with your agent whether the outer anchorage counts as inside port limits for that purpose before you fix.

Not published anywhere we could find
  • MIP's port assessment lists a fresh-water barge but no marine fuel bunker barge, and does not state how fuel is delivered (barge, truck or pipeline) or any maximum stem size.
  • Whether bunkering may be carried out simultaneously with cargo at the container or conventional berths is not published.
  • The assessment gives no designated bunkering anchorage or its depth.

Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.

VLSFO observed at the 6 nearest priced ports

The working behind the estimate above.

Those are prices at those ports, not at Mersin, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.

Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 8 hours alongside.

Indicative, delivered basis. Source: a licensed feed. Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.

A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.
