Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Larnaca, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.

Why there is no assessment here yet

Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.

No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.

Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Larnaca

Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-08-31.

Larnaca is a compact commercial port on the south coast of Cyprus, within the Emission Control Area with EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime in force. Its two quays run 666 m in total — the South Quay 340 m with 12 m depth alongside, the North Quay 326 m with 10 m — and the entrance channel and turning circle are both dredged to 12 m. The port takes vessels up to 270 m LOA at a maximum draft of 11.4 m.

Suppliers offer bunkering both alongside and at anchor off the port, so a stem can usually be worked without occupying a cargo berth. Beyond those physical limits, the Cyprus Ports Authority does not publish a bunkering procedure — no notification lead time, no stem ceiling, no barge-versus-pipeline rule — so the delivery method and any anchorage clearance have to be fixed with the supplier and the local agent, who arranges the CPA permissions.

Not published anywhere we could find
  • No Cyprus Ports Authority page reviewed publishes a bunkering notification period or a maximum stem size.
  • Whether Larnaca bunkering is delivered by barge, road tanker or ex-pipe is not stated by the authority; supplier pages describe supply 'in ports and at anchor' only in general terms.
  • The depth and any draft limit at the anchorage off Larnaca were not confirmed from an authority source.

Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.

VLSFO observed at the 6 nearest priced ports

The working behind the estimate above.

Those are prices at those ports, not at Larnaca, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.

Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 8 hours alongside.

Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.

A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.

Larnaca bunkering FAQ

What is the bunker price at Larnaca today?
No price is published at Larnaca. The closest port where one is, is Port Said, about 229 nautical miles away — VLSFO at $772 a tonne.
Is Larnaca a cheap bunkering port?
Whether a port is cheap for your vessel depends on the deviation cost, not just the headline price — reaching a cheaper port costs charter hire and fuel.
Does EU ETS apply at Larnaca?
Larnaca is in the EU/EEA, so voyages to, from and within it fall under the EU Emissions Trading System, and FuelEU Maritime applies to ships of 5,000 GT and above. That adds a real per-tonne cost that a headline bunker price does not show.
