Poti bunker prices

GEPTI · GE · Major bunkering hub

Estimated · VLSFO · not observed at Poti
$725–$785/MT

Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Poti, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.

Why there is no assessment here yet

Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.

No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.

Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Poti

Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-09-02.

Bunkering at Poti (GE) is available by truck, with gasoil only confirmed for road tanker supply; no barge or pipeline delivery could be confirmed from public sources. Bunkering.ge, a Tbilisi-based broker listed for this port, coordinates supply from vetted suppliers — submit an RFQ with vessel, grade, quantity and ETA; they typically respond with price indications within an hour and manage nomination, scheduling and delivery documentation (BDNs, quantity surveys). Bunker grades quoted for Poti include VLSFO, MGO/LSMGO, IFO 380 and ULSFO. Poti is NOT in an ECA, so IMO 2020 global 0.50% sulphur rules apply. Delivery can take place at berth or at the designated anchorage areas (Area 300 for dry cargo, Area 200 for tankers). Pilotage and towage are compulsory for all ships; navigation is 24 hrs for vessels under 180 m LOA, but no night navigation for vessels over 180 m. Operations pause for weather (sea state 4–5 Douglas, wind 15 m/s+), gang shifts (08:00–08:30, 20:00–20:30 LT) and meal breaks (00:00–01:00, 13:00–14:00 LT). Max channel draft 9.80 m.

Not published anywhere we could find
  • barge or pipeline bunker delivery available?
  • minimum notice / nomination deadline for bunkers
  • whether truck supply is possible at anchorage or berth only
  • typical stem time and truck capacity per delivery

Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.

VLSFO observed at the 6 nearest priced ports

The working behind the estimate above.

Those are prices at those ports, not at Poti, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.

Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 8 hours alongside.

Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.

A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.
