Bilbao's fuelling activity sits in the outer Abra bay, west of the city around Santurtzi and Zierbena, where the Petronor refinery and the BBG plant handle the port's petroleum and LNG. LNG is the best-documented part of the picture: Repsol has built a dedicated LNG bunkering terminal in the port with a 1,000 m³ cryogenic tank that holds gas at about -160°C, an investment of more than €10 million, chiefly to fuel Brittany Ferries' LNG-powered ropax Salamanca and Santoña. The terminal's design is flexible enough to serve other vessels, a twin terminal performs the same role at Santander for the same ships, and the project is co-financed through the EU's CEF programme. As an EU port, EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime obligations apply. For conventional residual and distillate stems, line up the grade, delivery method and quantity directly with your supplier: the pages I could reach set out the LNG facility but not conventional bunkering terms.
- The delivery method for conventional bunkers at Bilbao (barge afloat, ex-pipe at a Petronor berth, or road tanker) is not stated on the pages I could open; the port authority's own service pages were behind bot-protection and would not load.
- No published maximum stem size for conventional fuel-oil deliveries was found.
- The LNG delivery method (truck-to-ship versus a fixed berth) is not stated in the reachable source describing the Repsol terminal.
