Leixoes is a landlord port run by APDL, with cargo handling concessioned to private operators; Galp Energia is the principal private partner in the liquid-bulk sector, so conventional oil bunkers are arranged through the commercial suppliers rather than the authority. The port is actively positioning itself as an LNG bunkering platform. On 20 September 2025 Molgas completed the first LNG bunkering here, delivered multi-truck-to-ship (MTTS) to the cruise yacht Ilma, and describes Leixoes as a permanent LNG supply point. LNG is therefore truck-to-ship today, not from a bunker barge. As an EU port, EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime obligations attach to calls here and belong in the voyage cost. Confirm grade, delivery mode and timing directly with the supplier before fixing.
- APDL does not publish a maximum bunker stem size on its port-services pages.
- No port-authority or supplier page I could read states whether conventional VLSFO/HFO is delivered by barge or only by road tanker at Leixoes.
- LNG is documented only as multi-truck-to-ship; no LNG bunker barge or bunker vessel is published for the port.
- No bunker-specific berth or anchorage designation is published by APDL.
