At Tanjung Pelepas bunkers are arranged through private, licensed suppliers via the ship's agent - the port's Marine Information Guideline lists fuel oil, marine diesel oil and marine gas oil as available on request from commercial companies, but does not describe the delivery itself. PTP is a deep, purely container port: a dredged approach channel 420 m wide with a declared depth of 18.0 m ACD, and fourteen linear container berths of 360 m each carrying alongside depths from 15.3 m to 19.0 m, so draught is rarely the limiting factor.
There is no dedicated bunkering anchorage - the two anchorages inside port limits are a General Purpose Anchorage Area and a separate Explosives and Hazardous Cargo Anchorage. Pilotage is compulsory for any vessel over 15 m LOA (three hours' notice to book, plus registration in the MRMS), any movement needs Port Control's permission, and ship-to-ship working is on VHF Channel 6. PTP has also completed a first methanol bunkering, for the Antonia Maersk, signalling alternative-fuel capability.
