Pula bunker prices
HRPUY · HR · Emission Control Area · EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime apply
Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Pula, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.
Why there is no assessment here yet
Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.
No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.
Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Pula
Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-08-31.
Pula (Luka Pula) is a small Istrian port open to international traffic, run by the county port authority, Županijska lučka uprava Pula. Its port area runs from Valelunga (including Vela draga and rt Guc) to the former Uljanik shipyard, plus the 'Čađavica' basin (Molo carbone), Štinjanska draga and the anchorage outside the breakwater.
Under the port-order regulation, taking on fuel or flammable liquids is prohibited except at a place where it is specifically permitted, and bunkering follows the dangerous-goods rules: the ship shows a red flag by day and a red light by night, keeps all deck openings closed and holds crew on fire standby. On passenger vessels bunkering may not start until passengers have landed, and boarding may only begin once fuelling is finished. A written declaration of dangerous or polluting substances must reach the port authority no later than 48 hours before arrival.
- The regulation does not name the specific berth or area where fuel loading is permitted; the classes, quantities and places for dangerous substances are set by a separate ŽLUP act that I did not read.
- No berth or anchorage depths are given in the port-order regulation.
- No maximum stem size is published.
- Whether supply is by road tanker or by barge is not specified in the regulation.
- The regulation predates and does not address any LNG or alternative-fuel bunkering.
Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.
The working behind the estimate above.
Those are prices at those ports, not at Pula, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.
Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 8 hours alongside.

Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.
A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.
Pula bunkering FAQ
- What is the bunker price at Pula today?
- No price is published at Pula. The closest port where one is, is Livorno, about 171 nautical miles away — VLSFO at $549 a tonne.
- Is Pula a cheap bunkering port?
- Whether a port is cheap for your vessel depends on the deviation cost, not just the headline price — reaching a cheaper port costs charter hire and fuel.
- Does EU ETS apply at Pula?
- Pula is in the EU/EEA, so voyages to, from and within it fall under the EU Emissions Trading System, and FuelEU Maritime applies to ships of 5,000 GT and above. That adds a real per-tonne cost that a headline bunker price does not show.
