Male' Commercial Harbour sits on the northwest side of Male' island, and Maldives Ports Limited describes it as a general cargo and passenger harbour rather than an oil berth: a 102 m main quay dredged to chart datum -9.25 m, with roughly 75 m of barge quays at -6.5 m. The authority states the berth handles all types of cargo except dry bulk, liquefied petroleum and gases, that cargo works both alongside and at anchorage, and that passenger vessels are handled at anchorage. The only LPG tanker terminal is at Thilafushi, not at the commercial harbour.
Because the commercial berths are not set up for liquid fuel, a ship taking bunkers at Male' arranges them through a private supplier rather than the port itself. Suppliers such as TTS Group market marine diesel oil backed by a network of bunker traders and delivered to the vessel; the port authority does not publish how or where that delivery is made.
