Karachi is a brand-new bunker port, so treat it that way. Until late 2025 a ship needing fuel here generally had to divert to Fujairah or Singapore, because there was no domestic refuelling facility at all. That changed when Vitol began barge-based bunkering at the port in November 2025, delivering very low sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO) produced to marine specification by the local Cnergyico refinery, with transfers run to internationally certified practices.
Because the operation is only months old, the Karachi Port Trust built the licensing and documentation regime from scratch. Confirm your supplier's licence status and the grades actually on offer before you fix anything, rather than assuming a mature market. Do not assume the range of a Fujairah or a Singapore; this is a single-operator start-up supply.
