Barranquilla is a river port roughly 22 km up the Magdalena from the Bocas de Ceniza entrance, and bunkers are not a local product. Findaport records only "small quantities of gas oil and IFO with 3 days' notice by barge from Cartagena," so anything beyond a top-up has to be brought in from elsewhere and needs several days' lead time.
The binding constraints here are the river, not the fuel. The channel silts constantly: Findaport quotes a maximum around 9.4 m in fresh water, but a 2021 China P&I loss-prevention notice recorded far tighter low-water limits, 6.2 m for ships up to 180 m and 6.6 m up to 200 m, and warned that dredging had been suspended, with an annual river-level swing of about 7 m. Always take the pilot's controlling depth of the day. The Magdalena is spanned by the Pumarejo bridge, whose clearance is about 45 m, so air draft matters for vessels transiting to the upstream terminals. Enter in daylight and confirm depth with your agent before fixing a stem.
