Flinders Ports lists exactly one bunkering point at Adelaide, and its published limits decide almost everything. BP has run a pipeline facility at N Berth in the Inner Harbour since October 2016, fed from the Largs North Terminal and operated by contractor ATOM. The port publishes the constraints: vessels up to 120 metres length overall, eight metres draft, a flow rate of 130 cubic metres an hour, and daylight operating hours, still flagged as interim. Anything longer than 120 metres cannot use the pipe, and the port's service provider directory names no bunker barge and no second bunkering location. The Inner Harbour otherwise takes 206 metres and 9.3 metres maintained depth; Outer Harbor takes 350 metres and 14.2 metres, and its OH4 common-user fuel berth handles MR and LR tankers to 300 metres, but that is published as a cargo berth for the terminal, not as a bunker point.

The berthing rules matter as much as the hardware. Under the Master Port Rules bunkering is a non-working purpose, so a vessel wanting a berth in order to bunker is given priority only after consultation with Flinders Ports and at its sole and absolute discretion, and a ship that stops working can be sent off the berth to anchorage at its own cost and put to the back of the queue.

Notice is formal rather than timed: the agent submits a Bunkering Notice to the duty VTS officer, who signs and returns it, and no work may start before that. No lead time, maximum stem or grade slate is published.
