Saint Barthelemy bunker prices

BLSBH · BL

Estimated · VLSFO · not observed at Saint Barthelemy
$815–$883/MT

Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Saint Barthelemy, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.

Why there is no assessment here yet

Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.

No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.

Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Saint Barthelemy

Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-08-31.

Gustavia is St Barth's only port of entry and a small, tightly run harbour. Every vessel must obtain authorisation from the Port Captain and call the harbour office on VHF Channel 12 before manoeuvring; the speed limit inside the port area is 3 knots, and no vessel may manoeuvre at the quay or on the buoys between 17:00 and 07:00.

There is no fuelling station inside Gustavia harbour itself. Small yachts and tenders fuel at the commercial dock at Public, which carries a maximum draught of 2.5 m and is open Monday to Friday 08:00-14:00 and weekends 07:30-11:00. Larger vessels take fuel by road tanker delivered to the berth, arranged through the Port Office, so a bunker here is a truck-to-berth job rather than a barge alongside.

The Port Office does not publish a maximum stem size for truck bunkering, the fuel grades held, or whether commercial vessels may bunker at all, so confirm all three with the Capitainerie.

Not published anywhere we could find
  • The Port Office does not publish a maximum stem size for truck-to-berth bunkering (a 7 cubic metre figure appears only on a directory aggregator, not on port pages).
  • The fuel grades held are not published.
  • Whether commercial or cargo vessels, as opposed to yachts, may bunker is not addressed.
  • No barge bunkering is described; delivery to larger vessels is by road tanker only.

Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.

VLSFO observed at the 6 nearest priced ports

The working behind the estimate above.

Those are prices at those ports, not at Saint Barthelemy, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.

Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 4 hours alongside.

Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.

A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.
