Manzanillo has 19 berthing positions, 14 commercial, three for hydrocarbons and two for cruise, in a 437-hectare port area entered through a channel 16 m deep and 744 m long with 150 m navigable width. ASIPONA lists fuel and lubricant supply among the services to vessels, alongside pilotage, towage, launch service and water. The only hydrocarbons terminal in its list of installations is PEMEX Refinación, at 27,933.29 m².
Read the supplier list carefully. The directory heading is Servicio de Suministro de Combustibles y Lubricantes, fuels and lubricants in one category, and the five names under it are Navalmex Combustibles, Abastecedora de Combustibles del Pacífico, Lubtrac, Servicios Integrales Marítimos y Portuarios and Mextra. Those are not five bunker barges: Servicios Integrales Marítimos y Portuarios also appears in the same directory under mooring, hazardous-waste collection, and repair and welding.
Navalmex is the one publishing a slate: MGO DMA at 0.05 per cent sulphur, IFO 180 and IFO 380 at 3.5, VLSFO 180 and VLSFO 380 at 0.50. Its equipment page gives a national fleet of two tankers, two barges, four tugs and four road tankers working both coasts, with nothing allocated to Manzanillo, so ask what is actually on station.
- ASIPONA publishes no maximum stem size, barge capacity or pumping rate for bunkering at Manzanillo.
- The official alongside draughts, Calados Oficiales del Puerto, are published only as a scanned PDF with no extractable text, so berth-by-berth draught could not be read.
- Navalmex does not say which of its two tankers, two barges, four tugs or four road tankers are stationed at Manzanillo, or whether it works the anchorage as well as alongside.
- Nothing read states which of the five directory entries actually supply marine fuel rather than lubricants only.
- No source read gives a notice period, or says whether bunkering may run simultaneously with cargo work.
Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.
