Gladstone bunker prices
AUGLT · AU · Major bunkering hub
Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Gladstone, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.
Why there is no assessment here yet
Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.
No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.
Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.
Taking fuel at Gladstone
Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-08-30.
One self-propelled barge does the work: MV Larcom, operated by International Bunker Supplies, and Maritime Safety Queensland's port procedures list only fuel oil and diesel. The barge serves the inner anchorage and the outer anchorage weather permitting, and the Gladstone Ports Corporation berth table shows fuel available by bunkering vessel at most wharves, by bunkering vessel or truck at Auckland Point 1 to 4, and not at all at Wiggins Island or the APLNG, QCLNG and GLNG berths. Anchorage choice is constrained: South Trees No.1 and the emergency No.1.5 are marked no bunkering, while South Trees No.2 and No.3 may be used provided the anchorage draft limit is respected, wind stays under 25 knots, and no deep-draft vessel is programmed to sail and no LNG vessel is scheduled to pass during the operation. Loaded ships anchoring to bunker should preferably anchor on the ebb, with departure no earlier than an hour after low water. Bunkering is a work permit item, applied for from the Regional Harbour Master through QSHIPS, and a dangerous goods report goes to the port 24 hours before bunkers are handled. Night work is allowed, but the intention to transfer bulk liquids between sunset and sunrise, by road, barge or ship, must be notified to the Regional Harbour Master and the port corporation, with VTS told on VHF 13 at start and finish. Helicopter transfers are prohibited outright while Larcom is alongside, fuelling or not. A vessel carrying more than 1,400 tonnes of ammonium nitrate will not be admitted for bunkers. No maximum stem size is published.
- MV Larcom's cargo capacity and pumping rate are not published by MSQ, GPC or the supplier
- No maximum stem size is published for either anchorage or alongside delivery
- MSQ names only fuel oil and diesel; whether VLSFO specifically is stocked is not published
- The supplier publishes no lead time for ordering a stem
- The weather threshold for the outer anchorage is left as weather permitting rather than a stated limit
Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.

The working behind the estimate above.
Those are prices at those ports, not at Gladstone, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.
Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 8 hours alongside.

Indicative, delivered basis. Source: a licensed feed. Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.
A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.
