Port Said bunkers in two places. Inside the west harbour are three petroleum-service berths, 31 to 33, 575 m of quay at 3.6 m depth, plus four barge-and-tug berths, 7 to 10. Inchcape describes that inner-harbour alongside supply as having run on a very limited scale, the bigger business now at the outer anchorage, served by a licensed physical supplier with barges able to sail out. That anchorage is the canal waiting area between 31 21' N and 31 25' N, a northern section for deep-draught vessels and a southern for all types, where ships lie for the north convoy, cargo, provisions and bunkers. Inchcape lists HSFO at max 3.5 per cent sulphur, VLSFO 0.5 and MGO 0.1; Minerva lists the same three grades.

SCA rules cost money. Not cancelling a booked Port Said bunkering berth six hours before arrival is 600 dollars; shifting berth or anchorage in the Port Said Anchorage Area without SCA authorisation is 10,000. Pilotage anchorage-to-port is compulsory, charged on Suez Canal net tonnage: 150 to 650 dollars by day, 200 to 1,000 by night. A medium-danger tanker gets an outer-harbour berth, bunkering and water supply only, and SCA Harbour Master's permission comes first.
