Callao is Peru's main port, dredged to around 16 m in the outer approaches (Wikipedia). Bunkers can be taken both alongside and at anchor. At the APM Terminals (Muelle Norte) berths the terminal lists fuel as DO and IFO delivered by truck at all sites, but 'subject to types of cargoes and terminal's authorization', so alongside fuelling is not automatic and depends on what you are working. Those berths cap ships at 250 m LOA, 32 m beam and about 10.06 m draft on high water (0.30 m UKC); pilotage is compulsory in and out, and two tugs are required for vessels over 120 m LOA or without a bow thruster. Wider marine grades - VLSFO, HSFO and MGO - are offered by suppliers at Callao, delivered by barge or truck (Clipper Oil).
- No published maximum bunker stem size for Callao was found in the sources I read.
- The APM Terminals port sheet I relied on is an undated agent publication, so its draft and size figures may not be current - verify with the agent.
- Anchorage bunkering rules and any notice period are not detailed; the terminal sheet only states bunkers are 'available at anchor position'.
- A DP World Callao 'fuel supply bunkering' procedure document exists but its content was not accessible, so the Muelle Sur terminal's rules are unconfirmed.
Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.
