Lubeck bunker prices
DELBC · DE · Major bunkering hub · Emission Control Area · EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime apply
Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Lubeck, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.
Why there is no assessment here yet
Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.
No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.
Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Lubeck
Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-08-31.
Lübeck is a small-parcel bunker call rather than a deep-sea hub, and fuel reaches the ship by road tanker or by barge through suppliers' partners rather than from a dedicated in-port bunker fleet. Frontier Fuels, for one, lists both Lübeck and its outport Travemünde as delivery points and offers truck or barge delivery in parcels from 25 tonnes upward — quantities that suit the RoRo and ferry traffic the Trave berths carry. Its product is biofuel: FAME, HVO and an advanced marine biofuel to ISO 8217, which sits comfortably inside the low-sulphur regime of the Baltic emission-control area and the EU carbon rules now in force.
A barge-based LNG bunkering scheme, with floating storage and a small bunker vessel, was floated for the port some years ago, but I could not confirm from a current source that any LNG bunkering facility is operating there today. Fix your grade and delivery mode with the supplier before you rely on either.
- Whether conventional VLSFO/MGO is routinely available by barge at Lübeck, and which suppliers cover it, I could not confirm — only a biofuel supplier's page was readable.
- No published maximum stem size or barge capacity for the port was found.
- The old LNG bunkering plan's current status is unconfirmed; I could not verify any operating LNG facility.
Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.
The working behind the estimate above.
Those are prices at those ports, not at Lubeck, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.
Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 8 hours alongside.

Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.
A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.
Lubeck bunkering FAQ
- What is the bunker price at Lubeck today?
- No price is published at Lubeck. The closest port where one is, is Hamburg, about 33 nautical miles away — VLSFO at $734 a tonne.
- Is Lubeck a cheap bunkering port?
- Whether a port is cheap for your vessel depends on the deviation cost, not just the headline price — reaching a cheaper port costs charter hire and fuel.
- Does EU ETS apply at Lubeck?
- Lubeck is in the EU/EEA, so voyages to, from and within it fall under the EU Emissions Trading System, and FuelEU Maritime applies to ships of 5,000 GT and above. That adds a real per-tonne cost that a headline bunker price does not show.
