BUNKERFUELPRICES

Itaguai bunker prices

BRIQI · BR · Major bunkering hub

Estimated · VLSFO · not observed at Itaguai
$952–$1031/MT

Arithmetic on the 6 nearest ports where a price was observed, weighted by distance. Nobody has quoted this at Itaguai, and it carries nothing about the barge, the volume or your credit — which is what actually sets the number.

Why there is no assessment here yet

Only 0 observations in the last 72 hours. We publish an assessment from 3 or more.

No price is published for this port yet. Our assessment is built only from what we observe here — prices suppliers submit to us, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that close — so it appears once this port has traffic. A request raised now still reaches suppliers; it does not wait for an index.

Our own assessment, computed from observations made on this platform: prices submitted by suppliers, quotes received against requests raised here, and stems that closed. Weighted by how firm each observation is (a closed stem counts three times a list price), by how recent it is, and by parcel size. Values more than 15% from the median are excluded. No third-party assessment is used as an input, and no number is published from fewer than three observations or fewer than two independent sources.

Taking fuel at Itaguai

Operational notes, from the port authority and the suppliers’ own published documents. Checked 2026-09-02.

Bunkering at Itaguaí is typically performed by barge from Rio de Janeiro-area supply points; Petrobras, Brazil's largest marine fuel supplier, delivers at the anchorage area in the region by barge (or pipeline subject to terminal availability), meeting IMO 2020 0.5% sulphur limits ( fuels include VLSFO 0.5%S, MGO 0.5%S and LSMGO 0.1%S) — Itaguaí is NOT in an ECA. For Petrobras stems, minimum quantities and 24/7 contact via the Petrobras Bunker Office (bunker@petrobras.com.br; A.O.H. +55 21 97210-6272). Vessel movements, including anchoring and berthing relevant to bunker operations, are scheduled through the SILOG system and the Porto Sem Papel (PSP) platform under PortosRio's Regulamento de Exploração dos Portos, with manoeuvre requests filed daily 11:00–14:00 and programming published at 15:00. Ship agents should coordinate barge nominations with the supplier and confirm access/aquaviário clearance with the Porto de Itaguaí/PortosRio gerência de acesso aquaviário.

Not published anywhere we could find
  • whether barges deliver directly at Itaguaí berths vs Sepetiba anchorage
  • typical stem/notice time for nominations
  • night delivery allowed?
  • truck delivery available?
  • local suppliers Bunker One Brasil / Acelen / Transpetro / Granel Química operations at Itaguaí
  • weather/sea-state operational limits

Ask the supplier to confirm these before you fix a stem on them.

VLSFO observed at the 6 nearest priced ports

The working behind the estimate above.

Those are prices at those ports, not at Itaguai, and the distances are great-circle rather than routed. The estimate above is arithmetic on them — it carries no information about the barge, the volume or your credit, which is what actually sets the number. A request is the only way to get a real one.

Indicative only. Typical stem time here is about 8 hours alongside.

Not an offer to sell — a firm price exists only once a supplier has quoted.

A lower headline price at another port is not automatically a saving. Deviation burns fuel and charter hire, and a bunker-only call costs port time.
