Acelen is a Brazilian energy company created by Mubadala Capital that operates the Mataripe Refinery in Bahia and is described as the largest bunker producer in Brazil, acting as a physical supplier of marine fuels (VLSFO and LS MGO) delivered by barge. In partnership with Bunker One it supplies vessels at the Port of Salvador (Todos os Santos Bay, Bahia) and the outer anchorage of Sepetiba near Itaguaí (Rio de Janeiro), in addition to an existing operation at Itaqui (Baía de São Marcos, Maranhão), serving cruise ships, tankers, bulk carriers, container ships and offshore support vessels. The Mataripe Refinery processes more than 300,000 barrels of oil per day, equivalent to about 14% of Brazil's total refining capacity and over half of the Northeast region's fuel supply.
