Bunkering at Manaus is supplied by Refinaria da Amazônia (REAM), the only refinery operating in northern Brazil (46,000 b/d capacity), which has offered bunkering services since 2024. VLSFO was first supplied dockside in April 2025, delivered by barge while the vessel was moored at the Super Terminais container terminal on the Rio Negro; the receiving vessel (MSC Yang R) was then able to proceed without a Canary Islands bunkering stop. REAM also operates 24-hour bunkering support at the Vila do Conde anchorage (Pará), supplying MGO, IFO and LSMGO with certified quality and traceability, delivered in MARPOL-compliant barge operations supported by Grupo Atem's fluvial logistics arm Navemazônia. Manaus is not within an ECA, so standard 0.50% sulphur rules apply rather than 0.10%. Specific nomination lead times, tank barge fleet details at Manaus itself, and any port-authority (APH Manaus) night or weather restrictions were not confirmed.
