Halifax has one of the world's largest and deepest natural harbours and can take large post-Panamax vessels; MGO, VLSFO, HSFO and ULSD are listed as available (dan-bunkering). It lies within the North American Emission Control Area, so plan on ECA-compliant grades.
The delivery method is what to pin down before fixing. Halifax was served by a resident bunker tanker for years, most recently the Algoma Dartmouth, but that vessel sailed for Saint John, New Brunswick on 8 November 2018 to start an Irving Oil operation there, leaving Halifax without such a vessel; the shipfax account notes several companies then supplied marine fuel by truck, which requires the ship to lie alongside a pier rather than take bunkers at anchor (shipfax). Confirm with your supplier whether a barge is available for your call or whether you must berth for a truck delivery.
