Altamira is a Gulf-of-Mexico industrial and container port on the Tamaulipas coast, run by the ASIPONA Altamira port authority. It is not a major bunker hub, and the concrete fuelling suppliers advertise here is gasoil: Clipper Oil, for one, states it supplies LSMGO at Altamira 'by truck or by supply barge.' In practice, expect distillate taken by road tanker or a small barge rather than a large residual stem off a dedicated bunker barge.
A dedicated LNG marine-bunkering terminal is being built at Altamira; developer All Bunkering describes a berth for bunker vessels plus truck-loading racks and a 30,000 m3 tank, designed to API 2510 and NFPA 59A. But it is under construction with operations expected only in Q4 2027, so it is not an option for a ship calling today.
- Whether residual grades (VLSFO/HSFO) are routinely available at Altamira is not confirmed in the sources read; only LSMGO by one supplier.
