At the Port of Nagoya, bunkers are supplied by ship-to-ship bunkering, with a fuel supply vessel mooring alongside the ship at berth or anchorage. Toyota Tsusho Marine Fuels Corporation supplies conventional fuels (low-sulphur heavy oil and diesel), biofuels derived from used cooking oil, and operates Japan's first LNG bunker base in the Nagoya area. Toyotsu Energy Corporation has performed ship-to-ship biofuel deliveries at Nagoya, including Japan's first biofuel bunkering trial (April 2022) and supplies of blended low-sulphur C heavy oil and biodiesel to coastal and oceangoing vessels. Under Toyota Tsusho Marine Fuels' general terms, delivery is on an 'Ex-Wharf' or 'Delivered' basis; for delivered stems the buyer must give at least 72 hours' prior written notice (excluding weekends/public holidays) of time and location, and for ex-wharf loads at least 2,000 MT with five working days' notice. Vessels must be acceptable to the terminal and comply with ISM/ISPS and Port Authority requirements. Nagoya is not in an ECA; MARPOL global 0.5% sulphur limit applies.
