At CMP's Liquid Bulk Terminal in Malmö, bunkers and lubricating oils can be delivered by bunkering vessel (barge) or bunkering vehicle (tank truck), or via shore pipeline; a receiving ship is any ship taking bunkers from these sources. Bunkering is prohibited while loading/unloading products with a flash point below 55°C, and every operation requires approval from the Port Authorities. Advance notification must be sent to the Port of Malmö Maritime Service Department stating the receiving ship, supplier, time, location and quantity. The master must nominate a responsible officer, who appoints a safety guard; a signed bunkering checklist, closed scuppers, protected tank goosenecks, approved hoses tested within 12 months, and continuous radio communication are required before and during transfer. Malmö lies in the Baltic SECA: the EU sulphur directive caps fuel sulphur at 0.1% by weight, and CMP/STS built a dedicated bunkering quay with Statoil as supplier. EU ETS applies to intra-EU voyages, but local ETS rules were not confirmed here. Berths 1003/1004/1005/1010 operate 24/7.
