At the Port of Funchal, bunkers (HFO and AGO/MGO) are supplied to vessels alongside by the authorized supplier, delivered either by pipeline or by truck, with pricing linked to international market values via Repsol or Galp. Delivery takes place at berth on the port's piers (North Terminal Pier 6 and South Terminal Piers 2 and 3, drafts of 8.0–10.0 m); no confirmation was found of barge deliveries or anchorage stems. Fresh water is also available via pier connections. LNG (GNL) can be supplied to berthed cruise ships via cryogenic container trucked from the Socorridos storage facility (which is itself fed from Sines); this arrangement was approved for AIDA vessels and assessed as cost-neutral by ERSE. Bunker trading services are locally available from Fratelli Cosulich Unipessoal (Marine Energy), based in Funchal. Funchal is NOT in an ECA, so no low-sulphur fuel restriction applies beyond global 0.50% sulphur rules; EU ETS applies to calls here.
