BP Middle East LLC is the Dubai-based regional arm of oil major BP that markets oil products including marine and aviation fuels and lubricants, with technical support services, across a region spanning Egypt to Sri Lanka. Operating from the Standard Chartered Tower in Downtown Dubai, it serves as the hub for BP's Middle East refining and marketing operations; BP's UAE ties date to the early 1930s, when Air BP opened a refuelling depot in Sharjah, and BP has been an investor in Abu Dhabi since 1939, playing a pivotal role in the 1958 discovery of oil there.
