Placid Refining Company LLC is an independent, privately held petroleum refiner and physical fuel supplier, not a trader or broker. Founded in 1975, it operates a 75,000 barrel-per-day refinery in Port Allen, Louisiana (across the Mississippi River from Baton Rouge), producing gasoline, diesel and jet fuel that it distributes across the southeastern U.S. from Texas to Maryland via company-owned and third-party pipeline and marine terminals, mainly along the Colonial and Plantation pipeline systems and by barge on the lower Mississippi River — consistent with its listing as a supplier at New Orleans. It is also a major emergency fuel supplier in Louisiana and a military-grade jet fuel supplier for the U.S. Department of Defense.
