Heron Marine South Africa (Pty) Ltd is a South African marine fuel (bunker) supply and services company with its registered address in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape. Since October 2020 it has conducted extensive ship-to-ship bunkering operations in Algoa Bay at the Ports of Ngqura and Port Elizabeth, chartering tanker/bunker vessels and providing bunkering services under licences granted by the National Ports Authority as approved by SAMSA, while its Mauritian affiliate Heron Mauritius owned the fuel supplied; Transnet's port-licence register also lists it as a licensed bunkering service provider (licence dated 24 June 2022). Its operations became the subject of a 2024 Eastern Cape High Court tax dispute with SARS, in which three of its vessels were detained under the Customs and Excise Act over alleged unregistered bunkering.
