Bapco Refining (the Bahrain Petroleum Company) is Bahrain's national oil refiner and a physical bunker supplier, operating two 95 GT in-port/offshore bunkering barges (Bapco Refining 2 & 3) that deliver Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel within Bahrain ports jurisdiction, alongside a 267,000 bpd refinery whose products it exports via Sitra Wharf, Khalifa Bin Salman Port (used for sulfur pastilles) and Ras Tanura Terminal. In 2023 it issued an international public tender to purchase two new self-propelled bunker barges to replace its 1957-built, single-hull barges that did not comply with IMO MARPOL double-hull requirements.
